Educational Attainment

Dolly Parton Imagination Library

Learning for a lifetime

SMCF has long awarded scholarships – over a million dollars to date – but our efforts to boost educational attainment go much further.
Rather than standing with a graduating senior for just a moment at awards night, it’s our goal to walk alongside an individual through their entire educational experience.

Through affiliation with to youth serving organizations, we have provided thousands of age and stage appropriate books to help families with young children build a literacy rich environment. Educational software designed with preschoolers brain architecture in mind has been purchased for the Pendleton Community Public Library so all of our youngest learners can access materials online, from home or on the go.

We continue our journey with students through Student EnhancementGrants and support to youth service organizations. We support resources to help students find the right career path and to understand the advanced learning it will take to meet their goals – whether right out of college or when seeking career advancement.

The South Madison Community Foundation is devoted to the mission of building a culture of enrichment and the freedom of imagination in the minds of children.  They are our community's bright future!
